TapXO Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 29, 2026
TapXO is a game with local play and optional online play. Local games need no account. Online play — quick matches, friend challenges, and chat — uses a TapXO account you create with an email address or an Apple or Google sign-in.
Information TapXO processes
When you create a TapXO account, the service stores your account email address, your display name, and an automatically assigned avatar. You never upload a photo; avatars are chosen by TapXO. While you play online, the service also processes your gameplay results, ratings, ranks, levels, and match history; your friends list and friend code; your device push-notification token; and IP address, app version, and device platform for security and abuse prevention.
Chat messages you send — in matches, to friends, and in message requests — are stored on TapXO servers so they can be delivered, shown in your history, and reviewed for safety. Messages are protected with TLS while they travel between your device and our servers, and they are readable by our moderation systems and, where a review is needed, by our moderation staff. TapXO chat is not private correspondence between devices; treat it like any moderated online game chat.
Where your data lives
Account, gameplay, friend, and chat data is stored with Supabase in the United States. Push notifications are delivered through Apple and Google platform services. TapXO does not sell your data and does not include third-party advertising.
Message requests
People who are not your friends cannot message you directly. An adult account can send you a message request instead; it waits for 48 hours and is deleted if you have not accepted it by then. Accepting a request opens a normal conversation; declining or ignoring it deletes the request. Child accounts never receive message requests from strangers.
Notifications
Push notifications tell you about challenges, matches, and new messages, but the text of a chat message is never shown on your lock screen. A notification identifies that a message arrived, not what it says.
Moderation, blocks, and reports
Chat runs through server-side moderation rules. Rule violations can lead to strikes, mutes, and account restrictions. You can block any account, and you can report accounts and individual messages from inside the app; a report sends the reported content to TapXO moderation for review. Blocking someone stops their messages and message requests from reaching you.
Children and family controls
TapXO asks for an age band before social features are opened. Chat and in-game emotes are off by default for children under 13 and can only be enabled by an adult who passes the parental gate. Parents can turn those features off again at any time, and child accounts never receive message requests from people they have not added.
Deleting your account
You can delete your TapXO account inside the app under Me → Manage account → Delete account. Deletion removes your account, profile, friends, ratings, and chat history from active systems. If you cannot use the app, send a deletion request through the TapXO support page from the email address on the account.
Device permissions
TapXO uses an internet connection and, if you allow it, push notifications. It does not request or use your location, microphone, camera, or contacts, and it uses no nearby-device radio features. You can revoke notification permission in system settings at any time.
Service providers
Depending on your platform, TapXO uses Apple or Google platform services and push delivery, Firebase Messaging, Supabase hosting and databases, and Render hosting. Their processing is governed by their own privacy terms.
Security and limitations
Traffic between the app and TapXO servers uses TLS, and server access is restricted, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Choose a strong password and keep your sign-in credentials to yourself.
Your choices
You can block accounts, report messages, decline message requests, disable family social features, revoke notification permission in system settings, or delete your account. Uninstalling TapXO removes local app data from your device.
Contact and updates
For help or a privacy request, use the TapXO support page. Material policy changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Community features separately require acceptance of the current versioned Terms and Community Guidelines.
